AGNULA Kick-off meeting in Florence - April 12-13, 2002

Dave Phillips on staff at Centro Tempo Reale for AGNULA

Dave Phillips is currently in staff at the Centro Tempo Reale for documenting the AGNULA project. You can see some pictures of him working at the Centro Tempo Reale in Firenze and at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, in this website.

Copenhagen IST Event - November 4-6, 2002

The AGNULA project was selected to participate to the IST event held from the 4th to the 6th of November at the Bella Center in Copenhagen. The AGNULA group (composed by Nicola Bernardini and Nicola Giosmin) went to Copenhagen and showed the first packages and some early results of the project. After the set up of the booth (on Sunday) the AGNULA team started to diffuse the CD-ROMs and the brochures about some early results of the project. Due to the fact that the IST event was scheduled for the beginning of November, the 0.9 release was not really ready. However, the AGNULA team was able to distribute a preview release CD-ROM of the work done up to date. Many visitors came around to check the applications, to discuss issues related to Free Software and to learn more about the project itself. Prato Linux Day 2002 - November 23, 2002

The most important initiative in the Italian scenario concerning GNU/Linux and Free Software is the Linux Day. In Italy there are many user/expert groups spread in all the big cities. Once a year all the users groups meet in their respective towns and organize a considerable number of events: from installations to workshops, from simple dissemination of information to the donation of CDs containing pure Free Software. Among the biggest Linux Days organized in Italy the following should be mentioned:


Bologna, Padova, Milano, Roma, Prato, Firenze, Napoli

The AGNULA group was invited at the Prato Linux Day to perform a complete illustration and demonstration of the DeMuDi operating system. Nicola Bernardini, Free Ekanayaka and Nicola Giosmin took part to that event. The demonstration lasted three hours ca. and involved an unexpectedly large number of extremely interested participants which included also some professional musicians and studio producers.You may find some pictures of the event in this website.

The Sound of Europe - December 14, 2002

The most recent presentation of the AGNULA project was during the Sound of Europe workhsop organised by the Centro Tempo Reale at the Limonaia of Villa Strozzi in Florence. The aim of the workshop was to present the most recent results of several European projects lead by Italian research groups related to sound processing, music and sound synthesis. During this event an almost complete 0.9 beta release of the DeMuDi distribution was introduced to the public by Marco Trevisani. The most important features of the distribution were described, and several questions from the public were replied to in some depth.

BYOL - Bring your own laptop Workshop: Prato, July 03-06, 2003

The BYOL workshop was focused on Free Software in Computer Music, viability and usability of currently available GNU/Linux audio software. The most recent version of AGNULA project, DeMuDi and ReHMuDi, and Planet CCRMA were presented during the morning session. In the afternoon people was invited to "bring its own laptop" to get the AGNULA distribution. The BYOL ended with a concert where participated DIST (University of Genova), New York University and Planet CCRMA, together with the AGNULA team.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Prato Linux User Group (PLUG) and Planet CCRMA; it was sponsored by Prato Province .

AGNULA at SMAC 03 in Stockholm - August 10, 2003

AGNULA has been presented at the Stockholm Music Acoustic Conference (SMAC). During the workshop held (on the 10th of August) by Nicola Bernardini, Güenter Geiger, and Kåre Sjölander the main features of the AGNULA distributions were showed.

AGNULA at Résonances 2003 Festival: Linux install party - October 18-19, 2003

AGNULA will be present at one of the most important european music festivals: Résonances 2003. This festival is held in Paris at IRCAM: during Résonances a Linux install party will be organized (18-19/10/03).During the install party it will be possible to test/install DeMuDi and ReHMuDi distributions, and Planet CCRMA distribution.

Prato Linux Day 2003 - November 29, 2003

The AGNULA group replies the experience of the last year and participate to the Linux Day 2003 at the Prato Linux User Group (PLUG) in Prato. During the morning session Nicola Bernardini gave a presentation of the project and reported about the current status of it. In the afternoon Damien Cirotteau showed the most important softwares present in the distribution and answered to questions from the public. You can find pictures of this event in the website.

Sounds Expo 2004 (London) - February 10-12, 2004

The AGNULA group was present at the Sound Expo 2004 edition in London. During this renowed meeting the AGNULA project explained and showd the two distributions. You can find pictures of the event in the AGNULA website.
